Building an International Security Platform: 2017 China (Shanghai) International Fire & Emergency Expo Successfully Convenes

       On November 8, 2017, the China (Shanghai) International Fire & Emergency Expo (hereinafter referred to as the Shanghai Fire & Emergency Expo) was successfully convened in Shanghai New International Expo Centre. Ding Hongxiang, Vice General Manager of SINOMACH, Cao Xueyun, Vice President of Comprehensive Bureau of State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, Han Xiaojun, Secretary of the Communist Party and General Nanager of SINOMACH, Wen Yimei and Cheng Yongshun, Vice General Managers of SINOMACHINT, Su Guangling, Vice Director of Trading & Development Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce and Wu Zhiqiang, former President of Beijing Municipal Public Security Bureau of Fire Protection, attended the Shanghai Fire & Emergency Expo.

       In his opening speech, Han Xiaojun indicated that in order to satisfy the increasing demand for fire & emergency products and service as well as improving cooperation between related Chinese industries and their international counterparts, a number of state-owned enterprises and authorized institutions have jointly held the Shanghai Fire & Emergency Expo for building an international security platform. This Expo strictly follows to the significant strategies of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Long River Economic Belt and the Construction of new Eurasian land bridge. It has not only showcased the future development trends in the field of fire and emergency, but also established a new trading platform to boost cooperation and communication between Chinese fire & emergency industry and global fields concerned.

       The Expo, with a theme of “Building an International Security Platform”, covers an area of around 30,000 square meters. It was divided into three sectors including Fire Control Devices, Constructive Fire Protection Equipment and Emergency Reinforcement Products. More than 269 famous enterprises specialized in fire and emergency from 20 countries and regions including German, British, Australia, Korea, Burma, Indonesia, India and Thailand attended the expo, intensively displaying the most advanced fire emergency technology and products. At the same time, ten specialized forums, procurement-matching activities and hundreds of media attended the events and made reports. The total number of visitors was expected to be 20,000.
