Education Plus 2017 International Summit and Exhibition for Vocational Education Opens for Public

       On October 19, the three-day Education Plus 2017 International Summit and Exhibition for Vocational Education opened for public at the Nanjing International Expo Center. Attendees to the opening ceremony include Ding Hongxiang, vice president of China National Machinery Industry Corporation Ltd. (SINOMACH); Yao Hongjie, vice director of the China Association For Labor Studies (CALS); Han Xiaojun, secretary of the Communist Party of China (CPC) and General Manager of China National Machinery Industry International CO., Ltd. (SINOMACHINT); Chen Xiaoming, director of  Center for Mechanical Industry Education Development; Kosterlitz, executive director of the German Teaching Aids Federation; Moorer, senior vice general manager of Messe Stuttgart; Alturi, executive director of Nanjing Stuttgart Joint Exhibitions Ltd. (Messe Nanjing); Wang Yuqi, chief inspector of Trading Service Department of SINOMACH; Sha Fei, vice director of HR Department of SINOMACH; Cheng Yongshun, vice general manager of SINOMACHINT; and leaders from the Institute of Human Resources and Social Security, the Professional Qualification Center of the Ministry of Transport, the Beijing Automobile Dealers Association, the Nanjing Exhibition Office and the Nanjing Education Bureau. They toured the expo halls.
 
       During the opening ceremony, Han Xiaojun made an address on behalf of the host. He pointed out that new requirements for accelerating modern vocational education has been put forward at the 18th CPC National Congress. At the opening ceremony of the 19th CPC National Congress, President Xi Jinping clearly pointed out that it is the first priority to develop education, improve vocational education and training system, and stimulate the convergence employment and education together with the cooperation between schools and enterprises. Han added that, with the development of the Belt and Road and the implementation of the New Silk Road, we are working to implement both strategies of “Taking in” and “Going Out” in vocational education. Currently, we are at a critical moment of industrial transformation, during which high-tech talents are playing an increasingly significant role in industrial upgrading. Besides, Made in China 2025 and Guide for Development of Manufacturing Talents have provided great development opportunities for cultivating high-tech talents.

       Under the theme of “Bright Ideas, Bright Future,” the exhibition covered an area of 10,000 square meters. More than 100 exhibitors consist of enterprises and academic groups from a number of countries and regions including Germany, Great Britain, France, the United States and Hong Kong. 118 domestic exhibitors including Guangzhou CNC Equipment Co. Ltd. (Guangzhou CNC), Know-How Education Ltd., Nanjing Nugget Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (Nanjing Nugget) and 29 overseas exhibitors including Siemens, Bosch, EMAG, Festo, Lucas-Nuelle, Christani, and Phoenix. The products covered a wide range of intelligent manufacture, mechanic industry, digital information, modern agriculture, modern service vocational education solution, and so forth.

       At the same time, the 2017 Education Plus International Summit and Exhibition for Vocational Education Industry & Teaching Convergence Forum were also convened. These activities are teaching seminar and industrial expo of German experts in one. The best international practice and experience were shared for attendees to learn about the latest updates of the industry and technology to deepen the industrial exchanges and promote the prosperity of vocational education.
